Never played horizon on pc but usually the white point is the screen total brightness, something between 100-200 should be good, but thats a personal preference, and in my experience depends on the game implementation. I believe it's paper white but HZD on PC does not have perfect HDR sliders. Dynamic Tone Mapping fixes issues with the PC version.

I actually retested benchmarks and the performance hit is around -30 fps on 1.0 (from 96 to 63 fps ouch). each step-down gave around +5 fps in benchmarks so even glitchy 1.5 gave me 91 fps in benchmarks which is less than native. Aloy's hair shimmers more with each step from barely noticeable (1.0) to annoying (1.5).
God of War PC release also came after Ragnorok was announced. If the trend continues, the 3rd game will be announced first before coming to PC, so I assume no earlier than 2025. I don't see a reason for them to release the sequel on PC. As sad as it makes me to admit, there's no way we'll get FW on PC.

You never really know if you enjoy a game until you play. I thought I might like Monster Hunter just not working out. This I think will be good. Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC can be played in 32:9 ultrawide ratio and at a 3840x1080 resolution, if your hardware supports it. Note that cutscenes remain limited to a 16:9 ratio.
